My newest corsage brooch

Photobucket

Theres a funny story behind this corsage brooch of mine. Before my wedding day 4 years ago, my mom made 3 plastic-flowers bouquet to be put in my (I mean OUR- my husband & I) room. Eventho the flowers are all plastic, but theyre in good quality and very pretty.

2 weeks ago, I need a brooch which could match my batik outfit. So I took 2 flowers (rose) from the bouquet and changed one of em into a corsage brooch.

And suddenly I miss my Mom…..

Me. Coming back.

The last post before this kinda makes me laugh. Probably that’s because (at that moment: October 20, 2012) I promised to myself that I will start to write again in this blog after a year hiatus. But of course, I got back to another hiatus right after I published that post. What can I say? Managing more than one blog is not easy, especially when I have to write it in a foreign language.

But hey. Probably this post can be a new- fresh start for my attempt to write in English. Who knows? So for now on, let’s just be optimistic.

Talking about me coming back. I also have decided to do a comeback to Instagram after a long hiatus. Well I mean, I will post pics daily and not only that… I will also visit my friends’ stream, commenting on their pics… You know, communicating — social networking. Making new friends and maintaining them. Beside, started last week, I now can Instagram-ing thru my Samsung (Android based phone). I used to post pics via my husband’s iPhone or from iPad.

In this post, I wanna share the pic I like the most this week (the one two that I took and uploaded to Instagram on Tuesday).

First of all, lemme just explain that I am a teacher at one of the senior high school in my city (Surabaya). And yes, I have a close relationship with my kids, probably because I’m still young (the rest of the teachers? They have kids in my age, many will be retired within these years).

I took this pic when I was having snack with 2 of my students. So last Tuesday, after a looooooong hilarious debate whether we will hang out at the Library or at the nearest mall; finally only the 3 of us can go to the mall (there were the 6 of us actually).

So at the mall, after eating Tissue Bread (that’s the name and we bought one portion and shared it), we still feel a bit hungry but we only wanted to order something light. So we bought a pan of pizza, and shared those 4 slices for the 3 of us. Yes, we, Indonesians think that pizza is a light meal, LOL.

I took picture of the last slice, and it turned out that I love it so much. It looks like a pic taken with a DSLR camera 😆 Actually I only used a camera in my mobile phone but the sun was shining maximumly (geez is it even a word, maximumly? LOL) and it makes every pic looks beautiful, IMO.

So my suggestion for ya all: if you wanna take pic by using the camera on your mobile phone, do it under the sunshine 😉

Hello there! I’m still alive!

ok so I know that I have abandoned this blog for too long now. It’s almost a year now :lol So where have I been? Well actually… nowhere. I’m still here in this lovely city (the 2nd biggest city in Indonesia), I still work as a teacher and well…. I have many things in my mind I wanna share but everytime I have to write it down in English, they’re all disappear 😦

Don’t ask the question if you are not prepared for the answer

some people tend to ask, well, simple question like : “Do i look fat?”

if in my opinion, that person doesnt look fat, then of course i will answer : “No you dont. You look good,” -sometimes my answer can satisfy them. but in many times they will reply with : “But i am fat. i am gaining weight, etc…” yadda yadda yadda…

well ok then. the next time people ask me difficult question, i will ask them back : “Do you want to hear the truth or do you want me to give you the-answer-you-wanna-hear?

will i be rude, then?

Someday you might work for them

Stop bullying your friend (offline and online), and also: stop bullying strangers on the online world. thats just pathetic. do you really think, that you can say whatever you want to other people, as long as it isnt a face-to-face conversation?

remember kiddos, dunia itu berputar, senantiasa berputar and we have KARMA. K.A.R.M.A. someday, you might work for those you have bullied in your past. and they will be the one who sign your pay check. and they can fire you! what will you do then? kiss their ass and hope that they will forget the pain you have caused?

i saw some bullies, among my students. and thats just sad because i dont always have enough courage to stop them. this post, so far, is the best i can do for now.

dear you, you know who you are.

do you really need to let other people down so just you can feel special and powerful?

moreover…

i think parents and teachers should do something about this bullying-issue. we should give explanation to kids since their early ages, that bullying is not cool. bullying is not a game (in the end of the game, everybody will be happy). and bullying will hurt people’s feeling (the victims) and make them sad for quite a long time.

i used to be emotionally-bullied too back in elementary school, and i held the grudge for years before finally be able to forgive them and forgive myself.

the never ending WHEN-questions

i read an interesting post here:

Peer pressure when you are 30++

so i guess that ‘adult peer pressure’ happens everywhere in the world. in our country, well we have that kind of  ‘adult peer pressure’ too. i call it, the never ending WHEN-questions.  it started when we’re around 17 or 18 y’ol.

WHEN will you have a girlfriend/ boyfriend?
WHEN will you graduate from college?
WHEN will you get a serious girlfriend/ boyfriend?
WHEN will you get a better job?
WHEN will you get married?
WHEN will you get pregnant (this is THE WORST ‘when-question’ for married woman with no child yet, LIKE ME!)
WHEN will you have another child?
WHEN will your baby be able to do this and that?

and the list shall continues till the end of our life. ha! And unfortunately, it is consider polite to ask questions like those. Oh dear God 😦

My cup of tea

I’m having my hot jasmine tea, rite now. Very comforting, since I’m having this headache.

Probably I shud put aromateraphy with Jasmine fragrance too. To make it more calming and refreshing 🙂

Imported old posts

I have imported the old posts (2007-2009) from my other English-written blog, to this blog. Yay! I’m so happy because there are about 20 posts from 2006-2007. I haven’t married at that time, so the old posts contain my stories as a single lady 😉

Do check by yourself, it’s on the archive menu on the right.

One thing I recognize from my old posts was that, I often blog short posts which contain only 3-4 sentences. Sometimes they are only 2 sentences (less than 140 characters). It’s just like twitter, hahaha.

But of course, I haven’t got any twitter account at that moment (on 2006). I made my first twitter acc on 2007 but at that moment, none of my friends has twitter acc. So I abandoned that account for 2 years before finally deleting that account and made a new one.

I enjoy tweeting, so much. But blogging is better because you can post longer story.

I met him at the teachers’ office and then…

Today is just another working day. I work as a teacher at a senior high-school by the way. And yes, in this post, I’ll talk about my job. And things related to this job 🙂

After graduated from university on 2005, my best friend informed me that this school was looking for a new teacher. Then I applied for the position and to everybody’s surprise, I was accepted here. It’s been 5 years now.

On 2006, around July, I met a young teacher at the teachers’ office. His office didn’t located at the same room with me. So I rarely met him. From my colleague, Mrs. C, I knew that his name is Mr. M and he’s a very nice and helpful man.

On 2007, 2 days before Valentine Day. We started to get involved in intense communication and mostly via sending messages at Friendster. We went together once, and he visited me when I was sick. And 3 weeks later, we started our relationship.

It only took a year of dating and then we got married. See? I am so blessed and lucky to have this job at this school. Not only I can have the experience in teaching at a good school, but also I met my soulmate here 🙂
